FabFitFun Spring 2016

June 8, 2016

I am one lucky lady. Joe not only built this beautiful website for me but he also got me a little gift for launching it, a FabFitFun box! I've been talking about subscribing for months and it seems he listened. I could never justify the $60CDN price tag every season but it seems I may have been quick to judge. This is definitely worth that money, in my opinion. I don't think I'll stay subscribed but I may treat myself every few seasons to a box. Speaking of staying subscribed, the only negative aspect to this subscription (that I found atleast) was the lack of subscription options. Most boxes allow you to skip the month, and be able to keep your profile and subscription open. FabFitFun does not have that option. The only option is to cancel your subscription all together but by doing so your profile no longer exists. This...

My Emerald Life

May 19, 2016

My obsession with Emerald green has gotten a bit out of hand. So out of hand that when I see people post things that are *soo not* Emerald it actually makes me upset. Apple or Kelly green is not Emerald, and neither is Teal! There are only a few variations I find endearing. I sound insane right?Whether it's incorperating Emerald into fashion, weddings, home decor or jewelry, my love never falters. There is something so classic and elegant about the colour. It feels powerful and weathly but in a charming kind of way. Does that even make sense? Probably not, that's just my obsession talking.Photo Courtesy of Grey Likes WeddingsIf you follow me on Pinterest (which you should), you would see that probably 30% of my pins have some form of Emerald in them. I'm not just dreaming about having an Emerald life, I plan on having one!I want an Emerald wedding. [br]I want...

Georgina Naturals Cottage Duo: Review & Photos!

September 11, 2013

My my, it has been a long time since I have reviewed products from an Etsy shop but the time has come. For my recent cottage trip (which I'm itching - no pun intended - to do again), I wanted to be prepared for the many bugs and bites cottage life has to offer. I searched the internet for DEET free all natural bug spray and I'll tell ya, there is a lot out there. Not very many from Ontario though (from my research anyway)! All in all, I came to the conclusion, if I'm going to go all natural and DEET free, why not try Etsy. I searched locally and came across Georgina Naturals. I have a coupon code that will be listed at the end of the blog post!Taken directly from the Etsy page, here is a brief description of the brand. "Georgina Naturals is a 100% natural...

Wilberforce Cottage Trip 2013!

August 20, 2013

Two Mondays ago (wow time flies!) Joe, my friends Sara and Daniel and myself took a 3 hour drive to Wilberforce Ontario to stay at a lovely cottage we rented. We were expecting it to be nice but not nearly as nice as it actually was. Not only was the house beautiful, the whole property and area was as well. So serene and quiet, it was like paradise! It was such a relaxing trip, here are a few photos to show how beautiful it was!Front of the houseExtra little cabin with 4 beds and a bathroom!Back of the house The amazing kitchen!Main living roomOther part of the house with 3 more bedrooms, a bathroom and sitting area. The best staircase ever!Mine & Joe's room for the weekFirst nights sunsetMiddle of the lake on a canoe rideOn the Friday we went to Algonquin Park and did a few trails. Weekend Getaway: Blue Mountain May/June 2013!

June 5, 2013

This past weekend, Joe and I took a trip to our favourite destination, Blue Mountain. It's always a nice treat and a good time. When people ask me what we do there, there really is no other answer than just "chill and relax". We do explore the night life and we go on trails and explore the wildlife but mostly, we just relax. This trip was no exception. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite in the Grand Georgian on the 1st floor.  I definitely would have preferred a higher suite or something with a view but oh well. It was a great time regardless. This will definitely be a picture heavy blog post, and I couldn't be happier about it! The Westin Trillium HouseThat is one humongous chair! The Village & MountainsMini Put course in the Summer, rest of a ski hill in the WinterOur trip to the top of the mountain by...

A Very Merry Christmas 2012!

December 27, 2012

Oh, it really feels like forever since I've sat and blogged! December has definitely been a busy and stressful month for me. I thought today I would share a little sneak peak of my house around Christmas. This Christmas we had about 20 or so people over. I have quite a large family. On my dad's side I have a total of 10 cousins and many have children (included). On my mom's side I have a total of  11 cousins! That equals a lot of presents! Anyway, I didn't get a photo of our feast but here are a few snippets!Shouldn't have taken it with flash, you would have seen how much my Dad went to town with the tinsel! The flash gave it a cool effect though. Lot's of goodies under the tree!See how I reused a Topbox?Could these be any more freaky?! They dance too!Oh and you can't forget...

Well, Joe Let Me Cut His Hair...

October 12, 2012

... and I'm not super happy with the way it turned out. I only had a pair of shears and a comb! If I had a clipper I'm sure it would have turned out much better. Regardless, he loves it! It's been month's since Joe last got his hair cut and somehow I convinced him that I would do a great job. Not sure why he trusted me, I've only ever cut my own bangs and ends! Oh well, here  are the before and after photos I took. I was going to film but my camera battery was low... and it took an hour and a half!I just realized, I am finally revealing Joe to my blogging world. Don't all fall off your seats at once ;) Introducing Joseph, he's been stuck with me for almost 4 years! As you can see, it was long. What you don't see is the back...

My 21st Birthday!

September 21, 2012

On Wednesday September 19th, I turned the ripe old age of 21. I am usually an obsessive planner and plan things about 1-6 months in advance. For the first time in years I didn't have any idea about what I wanted to do for my birthday. I gave Joe the responsibility to plan out a whole day on Wednesday. I must say, I am impressed. I usually take over and plan everything so Joe rarely gets to make plans for us. I think he did great and I had an amazing time! In August, Joe purchased my gift which was a Canon camera so I could vlog in Blue Mountain and have a better camera to film on. So that was my main gift, and I couldn't be happier! My birthday plans started off the night before (or early morning) around 1am when Joe was driving me home. He took me...

Weekend Getaway: Blue Mountain Resort - August 2012

August 29, 2012

If there is one place on this earth (that I have visited) where I wouldn't mind living and spending all my time, it would be Blue Mountain. It's become a bit of a tradition with Joe and I to venture to Blue Mountain every chance we get. We love the atmosphere and the accommodations.Joe and I have gone about 4 times in the past 2 years. We have stayed in the village (Seasons & Weider Lodge) but our favourite place to stay is Historic Snowbridge. I love the feeling of having your own house, with your own appliances, furniture and awesome view. For couples that do not live together outside of their own dream world, Historic Snowbridge is a lovely place to be. That being said, staying in the village is also wonderful, and like your own little condo. Depending on the location of your mini apartment, it can get...

Camping! Summer 2012

July 28, 2012

Next weekend I am going camping and I could not be more excited! If there's one thing I wish I could do countless times every summer, it would be camping.I have a lot of the essentials (tent, sleeping bag, etc) but here is a list of things I will need before I go.1 - True Natural Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Unscented Facial SunscreenI will be spending a lot of time hiking and just relaxing in the sun. My face gets easily discoloured and a higher SPF is definitely needed for occasions like this. This "natural" sunscreen would be perfect for my face, shoulders, chest and the other areas that regular sunscreen is too harsh for my skin!2 - NatraCare Organic Cotton Intimate WipesThis item might be TMI but oh well! I do not plan on showering while camping. I will be there for 2 nights and the showers are always freaky and...

Canada Day 2012

July 5, 2012

This past Sunday was Canada Day! I am a very proud Canadian and I cannot imagine living elsewhere in the world. It is the perfect place for me and just completely beautiful. I hope to see it all someday! The day started off as usual, just relaxing in the backyard with my family. We had an awesome barbecue with thin chicken breast marinated in balsamic vinagratte, amazing corn on the cob, baked potatoes and salad! Mmm,mm,mm it was yummy! Hungry yet? I didn't take a photo of this amazing-ness but I will start taking food photos if you all would like?Anyway, enough of the food talk, it's making me hungry! Soon after dinner I whipped out a pair of comfy shorts, a tank and a cardigan and ventured off to RibFest with some friends. RibFest is a Annual festival of Ribs and other deliciousnesses to celebrate Canada Day. It is held...
