Canada Day 2012
July 5, 2012
This past Sunday was Canada Day! I am a very proud Canadian and I cannot imagine living elsewhere in the world. It is the perfect place for me and just completely beautiful. I hope to see it all someday!
The day started off as usual, just relaxing in the backyard with my family. We had an awesome barbecue with thin chicken breast marinated in balsamic vinagratte, amazing corn on the cob, baked potatoes and salad! Mmm,mm,mm it was yummy! Hungry yet? I didn't take a photo of this amazing-ness but I will start taking food photos if you all would like?
Anyway, enough of the food talk, it's making me hungry! Soon after dinner I whipped out a pair of comfy shorts, a tank and a cardigan and ventured off to RibFest with some friends. RibFest is a Annual festival of Ribs and other deliciousnesses to celebrate Canada Day. It is held at Centeninal Park in Etobicoke, which is a city within the city of Toronto! Around 10pm the fireworks started. They weren't that great, and definitely not the best I've seen by any means. Long enough to stay entertained but far too repetitive. Oh well, it was free to watch so I can't complain! I took some photos but let me just say, it is nearly impossible to get good shots of fireworks with a standard point and shoot. But I suppose these will have to do!
I personally didn't eat any ribs, or anything savory at all. I filled my stomach with cotton candy and Tiny Tom's donuts! So nutrious!!
That pretty much wrapped up my Canada Day. How do you usually spend Canada Day if you are Canadian? For my American viewers, how did you spend your July 4th celebrations? Any one reading internationally, what big holidays do you celebrate?
